My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET SUGAR!

This sweet and sassy lady is estimated to be about 10 years old. She’s a beautiful orange tabby with a winning personality and so much love to give! She came to City of Elderly Love from Philly's animal control shelter. She was having a hard time with the loud, scary, stressful shelter environment so the staff worked to find her a safe place where she could decompress. She's done just that!

Sugar is now living in foster care. She loves getting pets and scritches and sitting next to her human. Like any good cat, she enjoys looking out the window and napping on her cat tree. She’s a mellow lady who has had enough excitement out on the streets of Philly for nine lifetimes and is ready for the next chapter of her life to be full of rest and relaxation! She shares her foster home with a dog with whom over time, she has gotten used to and doesn't mind sharing her space! She was recently babysat by another foster home and was also unfazed by their dogs. She certainly wouldn't mind being your one and only, but she has proven to be fine around low-key dogs who aren't always in her face. Sugar is also living with other cats but she doesn't like to share her litter box with them and will sometimes urinate inappropriately if she smells another cat in the litter box. So while she has gotten used to living with cats, we think she'd be happiest as an only cat so she doesn't need to share litter box and prevent her from having accidents. Sugar is mostly a quiet, mellow girl who can get a little sassy when she's overwhelmed. We think she'd be happiest in a home without children who may stress her out.

Sugar has been fully vetted since coming to the rescue and has proven to be in good health! She has slightly wonky kidney values but nothing that requires treatment at this time. It's something that should be checked in her future routine vet visits.

Sugar is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love! She is spayed, and microchipped. Interested in adopting her? Visit www.cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!
