Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Southpaw picked Brody up at Devore Animal Shelter where he had come in as a stray. Brody is still just a puppy and would make a great addition to any family. He is sweet and gentle, but still does have some puppy energy. He is smart and very trainable. He is currently in a foster with several other small dogs and doing well. He is eager to learn and fit in with the pack.
When Brody came into the shelter, he was chipped. When the owner was called, they said he was "mouthy", so they threw him out on the streets and didn't want him back. It took one second for us to realize that "mouthy" meant he was a puppy. We got him a puppy chew and he was happy as can be. He hasn't been "mouthy" at all with us and hasn't chewed on anything accept his puppy chew and antler bone. We are glad Brody is going to go to a new home as any correction at all makes him cower and roll onto his back. He is a very submissive boy.
Brody loves to take walks and would be great for an active, outdoor family. He is good with other dogs, but does like to play with them, so if your dog doesn't like to play, it might be a bit overwhelmed. He has met a cat and although he wasn't aggressive, he did want to play, so the cat swatted at him.
If you are interested in Brody, please fill out the adoption application. An interview, vet check (if you have an established vet) and home check will be performed prior to any adoption.
