My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Callie is a pretty little ticked hound from West Virginia. She's about 2 years old, but has had a rough start in life and spent the last few months living on a chain. Callie is now in a Virginia foster home and has made great progress in just a few weeks. She's housebroken, has learned to walk nicely on a leash, and is becoming more confident about the scary things in houses: stairs, the basement, and machines that beep and buzz. She loves her foster Mom and likes to curl up on her bed. Callie is going to blossom into a great hound companion. She'd prefer a home without noisy young children, and without cats (well actually - she would LOVE to chase cats!). Callie is being fostered north of Boston and is available for visits.

About our rescue
We are a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in foster homes throughout the area or in some cases in the south waiting to be transported north. We do not have a physical shelter. However, meet and greets are set up for approved applicants.

Our Adoption Process
Visit our website www.necoonhoundrescue.org for information about the Coonhound and Beagle breeds. Read ‘Is a Coonhound Right for You’.
If you'd like to apply, our application is available at the link above. Once we review your application one of our Adoption Counselors will be in touch to review it with you. Once the phone interview is completed, we will check your vet reference as well as a personal reference and conduct a home visit.
