My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our sweet and very handsome boy Jacob! This boy has had a very tough life but that doesn’t keep him down and he is a super happy boy! He’s an older guy but definitely has some spunk even though he’s got some issues with his back legs with arthritis. We can also provide any vet care he needs so he’s not uncomfortable!

He’s a very gentle boy and would be a great companion! He has been in a fabulous foster home for a few month and doing awesome!!  He even does a few stairs at his foster's home with little issue.  He has a canine foster brother who he is great with.  And, sweet Jacob has fantastic house manners!!  He's really pretty darn perfect!!

We can provide that soft comfy bed if you can provide Jacob with a loving home! Fill out an app at  www.scoutshonor.org !!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

SHR will require an application and home visit for the adoption of any of our animals. The customary adoption fee is $150 for dogs $85 for cats.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Scout's Honor Rescue does not currently have its own facility to keep the animals in its adoption program. All animals in our program are fostered by individuals who keep the dog or cat at their residence until it is adopted. Consider opening your home to a dog or cat in need. You become the caregiver to a precious animal – their future is in your hands! It is incredibly rewarding to know that you have given that animal the two most precious gifts- Life and Love. For many of them, this is the first kind hand they have known.

More about this rescue

Scout’s Honor Rescue is an all-breed, no-kill, Not-For-Profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization committed to bringing Courage, Character and Compassion to Houston’s homeless pet population and making a positive difference in the lives of these stray and abandoned animals and the Houston community as a whole. 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to saving the life of a homeless animal.
