Hi, my name is Howard Johnson and I am a big boy with an even bigger heart. I came to MVPC in January, after a few dogs were found living in a hotel room. My homeless owner made the difficult decision to surrender us and this has been a big adjustment for me. I am still working on my manners and learning how to be a dog. I really love people, though it may take me a little time to warm up to you. I tend to be a little rough when I play, but will take direction, and am content to chew on toys while relaxing on a cozy doggy bed. Most importantly, I’ve already mastered the art of cuddling, and love nothing more than to cuddle with my human. I am active and energetic and love exploring the outdoors, but have limited socialization with other dogs, and will need someone who is patient and consistent to continue working with me on that aspect, as I am still very anxious around other canines. I have been attending weekly training and am getting more and more confident and comfortable every day!
ADOPTION FEE: $200 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained)
I AM READY TO GO HOME!! If you are approved to be my new family, a hold fee of $100 is required and will be applied to the full adoption fee of $200 when MVPC comes to visit your house with me!

PLEASE NOTE: We are volunteer based and a home visit is required; we have a two-hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Exceptions for our ADULT dogs only, though rare, may be made on a case-by-case basis but we must be able to do a home visit. Thank you for your understanding!
