My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We got an email back in August, 2021 asking if we could rescue a sweet dog that had been dumped in a tract near a housing complex. Despite our kennels being full, something told us we needed to make an exception for this one. So we went and got her.

And boy, are we glad we did! We had no clue at the time that she was pregnant but lo and behold, her tummy started growing overnight and she gave birth to nine healthy puppies on October 18, 2021, all of whom have found the most awesome forever homes! Now it’s Mama Bristol’s turn!

Bristol is the kind of dog you wish you always had. She is so loving and so friendly and so easy going. You just can’t help but fall in love with her! She can be elegant and a goof at the same time! She is funny and very energetic and ready for any adventure. She needs an active family willing to help guide her be the best version of herself. She is super smart and learns quickly.

Bristol is a Pitbull, German Shepherd, Rottweiler and Husky mix (we had one of her puppies genetically tested) and is a young girl, probably less than 2 years old. She has a full life ahead of her and we cannot wait to see her flourish in her forever home!

Please note:

All current AND previous pets (cats and dogs) MUST be up to date on vaccines and be spayed/neutered.

Please check with your landlord, if you rent, for breed and weight restrictions before applying.

We do not allow visitors unless you are an approved adopter.

More about this rescue

It all began late one evening when Meredith, founder of LCAR, watched John, co-founder, pull into the driveway with an unexpected passenger. There she sat in the front seat, as tall as she could possibly get, so she could look out over the dashboard. It was love at first sight. That’s when Roxy went home with Meredith and John, becoming the first of many, many rescued dogs, cats, and horses that were yet to find their way home to the ranch.

Lucky arrived soon after. She and Roxy were thick as thieves from day one and roamed the ranch as if they owned the place. Well, they did actually own the place!

Several dogs have shown up on the property since then, appearing as if out of thin air. They must have heard of the ranch being the place to be if you had no place left to go.
