My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sammi was found in laying in middle of a road, unable to move. She was clearly once someone's well-loved pet, but somehow found her way outside and was lost. When she was discovered, she had psychologically & physically shut down. The finder thought she had been hit by a car and took her to an emergency hospital, where she went days without eating and seemingly had given up. An owner was unable to be located, so she came to Dolly's Legacy and got her second chance at life. Sammi arrived severely overweight, to the point of having trouble getting in the litterbox simply because she was unable to lift her weight up & over the side, and terrified of everything. However, with patience and love, she's started to recover. Sammi is slowly losing weight and is ambulating much better. She's using the litterbox regularly again (with a little modification to the side to help her access it), and she loves nothing more than getting pets and loving on her foster mom. She's an incredibly sweet girl. It is so heartwarming to see her come out of her shell. We are seeking an adult-only, experienced cat home with lots of compassion to give her the time she needs to adjust to her forever home.

Sammi is a female Domestic Shorthair/Russian Blue mix who weighs 14 lbs and was born approximately 2-14-15. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and dewormed. Adoption fee is $125 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. If interested in adopting one of our available cats or kittens, you must first complete an online adoption application at https://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt-cat/ You will be contacted by our adoption coordinator via email after your application has been reviewed & approved to schedule an appointment.
