PLEASE scroll down and read the ENTIRE BIO. It is lengthy but has ALL INFO we know. Emailing and asking for more info is only going to hold up your process and risk your chances of the dog you want being gone. SONNY is in SALEM, Ohio. HE is fully vetted including neuter/rabies/Bordetella/parvo distemper vaccine/worming/heartworm lyme test/heartworm-flea prevent while at the shelter. We do not ship dogs, we do not transport dogs, we do not hold dogs. You must be ready to adopt within 72 hours upon approval.
FULLY VETTED ADOPTION FEE is: $200
** PLEASE NOTE: Since we are a shelter, the majority of our dogs have not had the luxury of a foster home. As a result, what we post in reference to their behavior, temperament, likes/dislikes etc is only what we witness here and not in a home atmosphere. ALSO, the breed mix posted is simply a GUESS on our part, we DO NOT do DNA testing.
Hi, thanks for stopping by to check me out...gimme a minute to settle down so I can tell you more about me!! OK, I am typical 10-month-old puppy which means I am still learning my manners & potty training, Therefore, please, unless you are able to demonstrate the time, patience and ability to hone these skills, do not apply. If you do not have the time to let me out every 3-4 hours for the next month, please take a look at some of the older puppies and/or adults or even seniors in rescue. The GREAT NEWS is that puppyhood is only temporary and with TRAINING, EXERCISE and STRUCTURE, puppies like me can quickly learn to be good adult dogs that can share your life! The BAD NEWS is that WITHOUT TRAINING, STRUCTURE, AND EXERCISE the only thing that will happen is that I will become OLDER and STILL untrained. Sadly, most people think that just age brings about better behavior. That is completely INCORRECT. Training, exercise, and structure, and of course prevention from doing "bad" things brings about appropriate behavior. SO, IF you had the patience to read all of this you may be just the home I am looking for. One thing is for sure, I have not had the best beginning in life and since I am so young, you have the opportunity to raise me the way you want to! I am looking forward to that because to me right now LIFE is an ADVENTURE and what adventure is completely without a best friend????? Currently I am having an absolute BLAST playing with my buddy Frank here at the shelter and I love all the other dogs as well. I like children but because of my lack of training, I jump up on people. As a result, smaller kids would not be a good idea...I would never forgive myself should I hurt a little one! I would do best in a home that supplies me with LOTS of exercise because I have a lot of puppy energy to spend! and a tired pup is a happy pup! My potty habits are a work in progress but as I stated above, time, patience and consistency are key. I am a great co-pilot in the car and enjoy a nice Sunday tour of the countryside!
