My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are URGENTLY in need of fosters/adopters for this sweet, senior boy, Jake!
Jake was surrendered by his owner who could no longer care for him. We were unfortunately not given more information about Jake's situation or circumstances. Jake is a VERY sweet boy who is currently incredibly restless and anxious, and in constant search of his owner. While all pet surrenders are tough for everyone involved, senior surrenders are certainly the most emotional for us here at the shelter; the stress and hardship this puts on our senior furbabies can lead to further issues for them. They are simply not equipped in many cases to handle a shelter environment.

Jake is a ~13 year old sharpei/lab mix with a very kind disposition. We suspect he has very limited vision and arthritic changes. He was originally surrendered to us 7 years ago and his first owner's noted he was very good with all people, kittens and dogs, but surrendered due to a cat incident. For this reason, we would not recommend he go to a home with cats. His most recent owner does not recommend he go to a home with dogs, but it appears Jake lived alone without any other pets, so we are unsure of the exact circumstance and would be willing to do a meet and greet with a low energy dog.

Please help us find Jake a fantastic retirement home! This amazing boy deserves to spend his time in a loving home, without the stress of a busy, noisy, shelter environment! We dare anyone remotely interested to come on down to the shelter, meet this lovely boy, and not fall in love! It just ain't possible!
