My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Grace was found on the street at only two weeks old. She was brought to AALOC and a foster nursed her until she was stable and could come back to our humane center. Grace was able to stabilize and grew into a healthy adult cat with one exception: Grace has very limited vision.
You may think loss of sight would make a big difference in Grace’s life but not so. She gets around just fine and we think she sees shadows a little more than other things. Grace loves attention and affection. Best of all she likes to play with her toys. Her vision condition does need to be checked annually but our veterinarians do not recommend surgery, medication or eye drops. Her condition will probably stay the same throughout Grace’s life but we know she can have a very loving, fulfilled life even without full sight.
Please submit an application to adopt Grace at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Grace and get to know her a bit.

More about this shelter

The Animal Assistance League of Orange County is a non-profit 501(c)3 no kill humane society dedicated to aiding lost and homeless pets, helping people with pet related problems, promoting responsible pet-ownership and pet population control, and preventing cruelty to animals through educational programs.

The organization took its first steps in 1973 with a few animal lovers who wanted to reunite pet owners with lost pets. Today there is a no-kill shelter located in Midway City, with a population of approximately 110 cats and dogs. There is a telephone/email helpline that assists pet owners with a variety of issues, including spay/neuter, pet aid for low-income pet owners, animal abuse and any number of other issues related to cats and dogs.

AALOC is managed almost entirely by volunteers. The reason we do what we do is that we care deeply about animal welfare and hope to make a difference - at least in our part of the world.
