My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WE ARE SORRY BUT WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN THE STATE OF FLORIDA

Meet Dallas, a 14-month-old bi-eyed male with a Black and White Piebald coat.

Dallas is a spunky, young Husky boy, still in his puppyhood. He was initially surrendered to a shelter because the owners could not handle him. It is evident from his behavior that he has not yet received any proper training thus far.

Before coming to SHRF, Dallas was also adopted from the shelter and then returned, although the return was due to him not being cat friendly which is quite common for the Husky breed due to their prey drive.

As cute and handsome as Dallas is, he is a handful and will require a lot of work with humans who have the experience and patience to work with him. He is food motivated which will help in his training. Crate training will be essential for his success, and he will need to be in his crate when left alone.

Dallas is very mouthy and jumps up when excited. He is also very affectionate and frequently seeks attention. He will nibble at you to get you to notice that it’s time for a belly rub.

While he does ok in the car he can get restless on lengthy journeys. It would not hurt to have a toy handy to keep him occupied. He loves to play with toys.

This boy gets along with other dogs but will expect them to be ready for some rough house play. He needs to learn some socialization manners which will come in time with the appropriate guidance and interaction with other dogs. Frequent trips to the dog park will go a long way toward this effort plus allow him to expend any pent-up energy.

Dallas is healthy, Heartworm negative, neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. This boy is essentially a clean slate, ready to become a lifelong companion in the right loving, forever home.
