Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Every single rescue we bring in to Ninja Paws has their own, unique story. Some are easy. Most are not. Munchie falls into the latter category. You see, 9 year old Munchie spent her entire life as the sole companion to her person, who died unexpectedly. A Good Samaritan and neighbor to the departed could not bear to see Munchie turned over to the shelter, but in her haste, had no where else for Munchie to go.
Since losing her best and probably only friend, Munchie has been in boarding at our veterinarian’s office. Not ideal. Not preferred. But safe and sound. There, she hardly ever comes from under her cover and while we know some of that secreting behavior is her intense grief, it’s also fear and uncertainty. So many sounds, smells, and energy in general she’s just not used to. It’s safe to say her current residence is totally opposite of life experience thus far and we would love to get her placed so she can move forward with her own, deserved healing process.
It may be that Munchie never becomes the lap-lying friend some are looking for and that’s okay. We think she has every right to be who she is and besides, there are people out there perfectly content with the mere presence of another sentient being. Not everyone is into cuddling; humans and animals alike. That’s the extra special we are looking for. One that exhibits concern but patience, care but respect, has a kind word even if Munchie’s not responding. Are you that special person? Can you accept her as she is? Would it be alright if she, in fact, turned into the most cuddly cat ever?
Hard questions, we know…but we also know her next best friend is out there somewhere! Safety first is our motto then we can focus on thriving. She’s safe, but we would like to improve her quality of life ten-fold.
If a forever situation is not your end game, perhaps you’d like to foster Munchie just so she can get re-acclimated to a home life. She is spayed and has perfect potty etiquette. If forever is an option, her adoption fee is $25.
Please submit either a foster or adoption application through our website or share this post with a friend.
