A wonderful dog!

UPDATE 4/19/22: Ziva absolutely fits her name’s meaning—Light of God.

This pretty brindle, 36-pound girl brims with happiness that is impossible to resist. Her cute butt is always a-wag, and she has an adorable grin. At five-years-old, Ziva acts like a pup and as if the world is filled with adventures just waiting to be met. Her energy level indicates that she would likely enjoy competing in dog sports such as agility, tracking, lure coursing, etc. A little more leash etiquette is all she needs to become an A-1 hiking/jogging companion or life exploring partner.

She came to us from local Animal control, so we don’t know much about Ziva’s history, but what we know about her, now, is that she is crate-trained, is friendly to all, is healthy, has a youthful attitude, is smart, and is cuddlesome. She recently, spent a few days with a lively family, and we learned from them that Ziva will tolerate some cantankerous behavior from other dogs but eventually will stand up for herself. They also let us know that she loved their small children so much that she didn’t want other dogs to get too near them. They said she displayed excellent house manners, was great in the car, slept in bed all night with them, was quiet and super-loving.

Ziva will flourish in a home with a fenced yard and active people who enjoy helping a new companion learn their best behavior. A place where she will be the only dog is preferred, although, she may be amenable toward another with a yielding personality. She does like to play with compatible dogs.
