PLEASE scroll down and read the ENTIRE BIO. It is lengthy but has ALL INFO we know. Emailing and asking for more info is only going to hold up your process and risk your chances of the dog you want being gone. MIA is in SALEM, Ohio. SHE is fully vetted including spay/rabies/Bordetella/parvo distemper vaccine/worming/heartworm lyme test/heartworm-flea prevent while at the shelter. We do not ship dogs, we do not transport dogs, we do not hold dogs. You must be ready to adopt within 72 hours upon approval.
FULLY VETTED ADOPTION FEE is: $150
** PLEASE NOTE: Since we are a shelter, the majority of our dogs have not had the luxury of a foster home. As a result, what we post in reference to their behavior, temperament, likes/dislikes etc is only what we witness here and not in a home atmosphere. ALSO, the breed mix posted is simply a GUESS on our part, we DO NOT do DNA testing.
Hi there!! HOLD ON A SEC!! Before you rush to fill out that application to meet me you need to read what my girls here at the shelter have to say about me. While I am the PERFECT size (37lbs), temperament, and am quite obviously Beautiful, I (up til this point) have had zero training. What that means is that I will jump on people for attention, come flying onto a lap for hugs, will pee and poop wherever I may be when the "urge" hits me, will bark for attention....well, you get the picture. On the flip side of that is that I LOVE everyone I meet, am great with other dogs, love respectful kids (over age of 7 due to my "exuberant" tendencies), and am quite eager to learn what is expected of me from you humans. With that said, I will need an owner(s) who is has the time and patience to be consistent with my training and does not have unrealistic expectations from the get-go. I CAN tell you that I make great eye contact and am very food motivated, both of these things will make our training sessions more manageable. I might add that my charming personality along with my good looks have a way of winning everyone over, so make sure you look past my beauty and are able to commit to my puppy needs. Speaking of puppy....I am great at puppy antics and will get into everything I can find BUT, as long as I have the right amount of exercise and mental stimulation (and you puppy-proof your home) we should be good!! Afterall, a tired dog is a happy dog!! I absolutely love sitting on laps, snuggling up with humans, giving kisses....well, any type of loving attention! I am getting used to car rides and have found that the co-pilot seat is the place to be!! I can use practice on my leash walking. In short, I am the true definition of a "diamond in the rough". So if you are ready to make the commitment of toughing it out for a short time (with training), I can guarantee you that I am worth it and will give you my all for a lifetime.
