Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Kane, Male, Great Pyrenees, 3 years old, 125 lbs.
Almost perfect; this wonderful boy gets along with everyone including dogs (and cats; which appear to be unworthy of his attentions). He is a smart, laid back boy with low to moderate energy and good manners. Kane has good recall, is excellent off leash and understands basic commands.
Most importantly, he bonds quickly to his humans and will show his very affectionate side and appreciation.
When you see Mr Wonderful moving with confidence and joy, it’s hard to believe he was born with vision impairment. He has diminished sight in his right eye and his left eye is almost blind. His vision has had very little impact on his ability to navigate the world. He is not reactive or overly jumpy. The only time it is truly noticeable is in a new environment.
Kane’s vision impairment may explain his inclination to guard his food. It could also be a trust issue as it has been improving in his foster home. A quiet out of the way feeding area will manage the issue and continued training could eliminate it. He is gentle with treats and has no other guarding issues.
Kane is an endearing boy who will live his best life in a rural setting with people who are experienced with his breed and food guarding. He would enjoy having dog friends and children to visit but best not to live with. In turn, the lucky adopter will have their life enriched by this very special boy.
The adoption fee for Kane is $500.00. He has been neutered, microchipped, and his vaccinations are up to date. We do not ship our dogs.
