Daisy is such a sweet lady with a face that will melt your heart. Her personality is quiet and calm, and gazes at you with her big brown eyes. Although she is 8 years old, she still loves to play fetch with her toys and go for walks, followed by a long nap. Daisy has the funniest hound dog howl. She will make a wonderful loving companion for someone that wants an affectionate cuddler!
Ideal Family: Daisy’s ideal family would have a home without other dogs and cats, and without small children. Daisy would also love a family who will take her for her daily walks, but be ready to cuddle when they get home. A family that has time to give Daisy lots of attention, snuggle her, and give her daily exercise would be perfect!
Likes: Daisy loves treats, walks, car rides, cuddling with her humans, and playing fetch and tug with toys.
Age: 8 years old
Breed: Coon Hound/German Shorthair Pointer
Weight: 50lbs
Kid-friendly: Yes! Daisy has done great with teenagers, but is too rambunctious and unpredictable for smaller children.
Dogs: No – While Daisy can play well with other dogs, she plays rough, going for the neck and head of other dogs. She also is very territorial inside her foster home, guarding space, food, and toys from the resident dog.
Cats: No – Daisy will chase cats.
Crate Trained: Yes! Daisy is crate trained. The longest she has been crated in her foster home was 8 hours and she does very well.
Potty Trained: Yes! Daisy has been kenneled for up to 8 hours with no accidents. She also does well being left out alone without any accidents. If she needs to go out, she will go to the door and whine.
Health Concerns: Because of Daisy’s big floppy ears, ear maintenance is important. She has had ear infections in the past, not currently.
