My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bella!

*Bella's adoption fee has been sponsored anonymously, in memory of Klaus.

Hello, my name is Bella, and I'm one of the dogs who have been with Albert's the longest. I'm about 12 years old now, and weigh just about 10 pounds! I've worked really hard on not looking like a land seal, and foster mom says I've done such a good job! I'm a real good girl with other dogs, and even cats who don't get in my face. But listen, I'm not going to play with others like a puppy would, but I can live harmoniously with them. I can be a little spicy from time to time, but I LOVE my 13 year old human foster sister! I enjoy when she snuggles me gently, so I could easily live with older human kids!

With age comes a few medical issues and one is that my kidneys don't function fully, although my numbers on my most recent tests are all pretty normal. I have an untreatable kidney stone, and deformed kidneys. As a result, I'll need to be on special food for my kidneys. This all results in me having to go potty frequently, so I hope my new people don't mind cleaning up little messes. I'm a little girl, so I don't pee much at one time. I'm a real happy little lady otherwise, and I still have enough energy to go for walks and follow my humans around the house, which are some of my favorite activities. I'd love to have a lap to sit on and watch the world go by all the rest of the time! Do you have a little time for a little old lady like me?

*Bella is being fostered in the Wausau area.

Disclaimer: It is VERY difficult even for a veterinarian to tell the exact age of a dog over two years old. From one vet to another, we can get different age estimates on the same dog and they can vary by several years. We are only making an educated guess based on a few factors like teeth, fur color, and overall body condition, but for dogs who have not been given adequate vet care and food, it can be even more difficult. Every dog is an individual, and we do our very best to age appropriately but make no guarantees as to the age of any dog in our program.
