My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This adorable little dude is Cody. He was found all alone in a big scary world by some very nice people who found him on a very cold night.

At just around 6 months old (as of 03/15/22) Cody is still very much a puppy. We know it is hard but before you fall in love with that adorable face, please make sure you take the time to fully consider if taking on the work of a puppy is truly right for your life and family.

Cody is still in a chewing phase while he learns what is allowed and not so allowed to chew on. He has done very well with his crate training overnight but he does think that as soon as the sun is awake it's time for everyone to be awake.

He is also doing quite well with his housebreaking but he will need a family that understands that he may backslide slightly while he learns a new routine and that he is still learning. He is doing pretty well with leash walking but will need a family who is willing to continue working with him to help make him the best pup he can be. We strongly encourage Cody's new family to do some level of training with him. It is also important that everyone fully consider that Cody seemingly being a Spaniel mix will need a lifetime of professional grooming services to keep him looking and feeling his best. His new family will also need to be aware that Spaniels and Spaniel mixes notoriously have ear issues.

Overall Cody is a happy, sweet, bundle of love but he is also still a mouthy, chewy puppy. We think a home with slightly older children would be best and we also think he would do well living with other animals as long as they are tolerant of his puppy antics.

If you would like to meet this special dog, please email dogs@lunashouse.org to set up an appointment. Please be patient to hear from us as we are all volunteers and may not be able to respond immediately.

Our volunteers make sure just the right home is chosen for me so they require a home visit to make sure there are no safety issues that could hurt me. You must live within a 50 mile radius of our location in order to be considered.

The adoption fee is $250 and includes vaccines, flea prevention treatment, neuter/spay, and micro chipping. Like us on Facebook!!

Visual breed identification in dogs in unreliable, for most of our dogs we are making the best guess at what the predominant breed or breed mix might be. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each dog based on personality and temperament, not breed label.
