Meet our super silly boy named Augie! Augie came to our facility after he was found roaming alone on the outskirts of town. He is about 1.5 years old and he has a funny, loving, puppy personality! Augie is a very playful dog who loves chasing toys around the backyard. He can be a bit jumpy, but he is definitely a trainable dog. He is very food motivated and will usually always listen for a treat. He is super friendly with all people and loves to cuddle!
Augie needs to go to a home where he can be the only dog. He is not reactive to dogs through the kennels or on walks, but once he is comfortable in a home he thinks everything belongs to him and does not want to share with another dog. He can go to a home with children 12 years old and older.

MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly.
You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.

An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments.
ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
