Sojourner (Sojo for short) is a lovely sweet girl who spent the first 7 years of her life as a breeder in a puppy mill. She was thankfully relinquished as she is aging out of the breeding years. She had her last litter 12 weeks ago. She is now free and ready to start a new life!
Sojo is learning very quickly to live in a house with people and other dogs. She is energetic, interested in life, and experiencing the puppyhood she never had in a new world. She loves playing with dogs, bones, and is enjoying companionship, and love.
Sojo walks well on a leash. She is mostly housetrained, with few accidents and that is rapidly improving. A true Siberian, she enjoys exploring and may occasionally get into trouble. She's learning what's safe to play with and will require a watchful eye to continue her education. A gentle redirection is usually what's needed to move her on to something better.
Sojo is only timid when you walk towards her or reach your hand towards her head, but has already learned to love petting and neck scratches. She will come to you readily on her own terms and is affectionate with people.
She has gone scootering a couple of times and is getting the hang of it. She pulls well when not distracted. Sojo is excited to see the world and is looking for a new home with lots of love and understanding. She would love to sleep on a dog bed next to your bed and will make a wonderful companion.
Sojo has been to the vet and is in good health. She is vaccinated and will be spayed before she moves on to her forever home. She is a healthy weight and will have a beautiful coat (which is currently blowing out after weaning her pups). While her coat has some staining from being caged previously, that will diminish with time
Sojo loves playing with her foster siblings and would do well in a home with a dog of similar size. No cats, please. She is a beautiful girl with a gentle temperament and is full of life.
We provide adoption services to homes within a 100 mile radius of our West Chester, PA office. If you are outside of that area please contact a shelter or rescue group closer to your home. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, microchipped, vaccinated, and evaluated in a private home. You will find details regarding our adoption policy, process, fee, and application on our website (www.arcticspiritrescue.org). Please be sure you meet the qualifications we have listed for the dog you would like to adopt. No exceptions are made regarding the dog's requirements and we take our time to find the perfect home. No dogs are shown without an approved application. We do not have a kennel facility. All of our dogs are fostered and evaluated in experienced private homes.
