My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ollie 6499
Like most canines when first setting foot in the bark park, Ollie dashed about as he checked out the seemingly mysterious supply of sniffable advertisements provided by previous visitors. Unlike many other canines in this just arrived here situation, when called, Ollie immediately sprinted back to the photographer and performed a “I’m here for you” sit directly in front of the human. Ollie shares non-stop smiles with everyone and demonstrates a tremendous desire to please. When requested, he hopped up on the agility platform and gave the impression that he would remain there indefinitely until he was given permission to move. He is a handsome Staffie and enjoyed posing with his snowflake adorned bandana. He also enjoys snuggling up to you, standing just close enough so you have no excuse but to reach down and give his rump a welcomed but respectful scratch.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is $70 which covers all the basic shots and worming medications appropriate for the age of the animal as well as the required spaying or neutering. If the animal is too young to be neutered, a voucher is presented to the adopter to cover the process at a participating vet. Rabies shots are not included. We have an application process in which we ask basic questions to insure that you and the chosen pet are a good match for each other. We do require a vet reference. If you have been arrested and convicted of animal abuse or neglect, you will not be considered for adoption. If you do not own your home, a letter from the landlord giving permission to have a pet is required. Local ordinances regarding maximum numbers of pets shall be observed. All other household pets must be spayed or neutered. All pets are adopted "as is." Should the pet not work out after you take it home, we ask that you return the animal to us for re-homing. We want each animal to find a loving forever home and reserve the right to refuse any application should the individual needs of the chosen animal not be in that dog's best interest. Contact our office for inquiries and applications.

More about this shelter

The Humane Society for Animals is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides for the welfare of dogs and cats in Benton County through shelter and adoption services, spaying and neutering vouchers, and humane education.
The Humane Society for Animals has held over 90,000 animals since it originally opened in 1972. Our facility at 1st and Nursery Rd. was built in 1980 and continuously houses a total of around 85 dogs and 20 cats. Most of our cats and dogs are strays that have been dumped or abandoned. Others come from local animal control agencies and from people who can no longer care for them, that live in the county. We offer the public numerous opportunities either to donate or get involved. Please contact us to see how you can help.
