HISTORY: Ally Brooke & her pal, River, were found as strays in Eastern Washington in March 2022. She is a beautiful girl with a brown coat and a white chest. She has a wonderful temperament.
SHORT TERM FOSTER UPDATE: Ally Brooke is friendly and has already come out of her shell. She's affectionate, snuggly and loves being around people. Our 7-year-old son had been pretty shy around other dogs, but seemed to really like Ally Brooke and she seemed to like him. We currently take her on two walks per day and jogged with her a few times. Ally Brooke does well meeting people and other dogs on walks (including on narrow trails) and has met many dogs nose to nose without any issues. She really likes a young female lab in our neighborhood and they play together at the fence. We haven’t yet tested Ally Brooke with really small dogs or cats. She is currently hesitant to relieve herself on walks but when we let her off leash in our backyard she does her business. Ally Brooke is a really intelligent dog, she can open lower kitchen cabinets and has figured out how to push open soft barriers. She knows some basic commands (sit, down, and come) but wait-stay and heel are still pretty difficult for her. She is house-trained but has had a few pee accidents in the house even though we take her outside every few hours. As long as someone is home and can keep Ally Brooke on a consistent schedule she will pick it up.
Although this sweetie has had a rough start, she remains positive, optimistic, and trusting of people. Little does she know, things will get even better for her when she finds a foster or forever home where she experiences the warmth and compassion of a caring family.
