My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss Noemi is a 1-2 year old pit mix. She came from one of our shelter partners. She was found as a stray in very bad condition. She was emaciated and had a stomach full of foreign bodies (it appeared to be possibly chicken bones on the X-rays). The shelter and veterinary staff treated her and were hopeful that she would pass everything without needing surgery. Luckily she did. Noemi also had some injuries to her front right leg. Externally they appear to have healed now. We had new X-rays taken and it showed bone remodeling, which means the bone is “rebuilding itself.” The doctor believes there may have been an infection in it at some point in time but is ok now. Otherwise, Noemi is basically healthy. She is still a little thin but she has been gaining weight. She is a very sweet but timid dog. She seems to get along with other dogs but does not care for cats. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Noemi please complete an application.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopter(s) will meet the dog. At this time there will also be a meet and greet between any other pets included in the household.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process consists of an initial application for the animal of interest, followed by reference checks (both personal and with a veterinarian), a home visit, and finally if approved an adoption contract. All animals are required to be inside companion pets and the owner must maintain veterinary care throughout the life of the animal.

Adoption fees are $150 for dogs, unless it is fostered through us for another rescue and $75 for cats.

All animals are up to date with vaccinations and spayed/neutered before adoption.

Go meet their pets

Arrangements can be made to visit with any of our pets, but because we are foster based and do not have one facility, appointments must be made to do so. To visit with a pet, please contact us at 814-421-7078 by phone or text.

More about this rescue

We are a small foster based rescue, not a shelter, comprised of multiple individuals that open their homes to stray, sick, and forgotten animals in need. We began the rescue in the Ligonier Area to focus on issues of stray, abandoned, and neglected animals. We often took in animals for the local police departments instead of having them sent to animal control. We have since expanded and try to cooperate with the public, other rescues, and other animal groups to assist any animal in need. Our primary focus area for intake though is still the Ligonier Valley. Adoptions can be made to any area as long as the adoption process is completed.
