Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hey there, future fam!
My name is HAENGBOK and I am a super sweet 6 year old Jindo mix girl weighing around 44 lbs. I am a medium size pooch with a serious but adorable, cute faces! I am now living in a foster home in Vancouver!
Back then in 2018, I was living on the streets in a redevelopment site on the outskirts of Seoul, South Korea, with my mom Joy. During the harsh winter, I was pregnant and I gave birth to some puppies. The puppies were all dead except just one. My mom took the survived puppy to a coffee shop to ask for help. After a few days, when the weather became warmer, my mom went back to the coffee shop and took the puppy back. One animal lover heard our story from the shop owner and she finally found us. She was so nice. She kept feeding us for months. We knew we could trust her. We opened up to her and one day she caught us and took us to somewhere.
We were sent to a home in South Korea and got our own home in the house’s yard, but unlike the promise, we were neglected. We couldn’t get proper care. When the nice lady found out this, she took us to another place.
Without my mom, I was sent to a doggy school as I was unsure about how to get along with human friends and I didn’t like people petting me. I spent a year there. There were good teachers at the school. Thanks to them, I learned little by little the fact that it would be okay to make friends with humans. After a year, I graduated the school and the nice lady was so proud of me. I was sent to a place where my mom had been living. There were also a caring lady, doggy friends, sunny yard, and a lot of treats! I really loved living there and I spent 2 years there. I was lucky a lot of amazing humans took care of me.
Now, as long as new people approach me slowly and gently and give me treats, I will be quite comfortable. I’m very gentle with other doggy friends, regardless of their size, even at the first time, as I’m very used to meet new dogs and share the space with them. I rarely engaged in play with them, though. Play is not my thing. I’m very calm and mature. Also, I’m quite a good leash walker.
Here are a few things I absolutely love to do: laying in the sun, meditating on my bed, going on walks, and eating dry dog food and roasted meat!
I will need someone who understands that not all dogs are cuddly and understands my laid-back lifestyle. I’m not the type of dog who will keep you busy. I’ll just stay around you.
I have spent a few weeks with my foster mom and foster sibling so far and if you have any questions, feel free to ask!
