Calling all boxer lovers!
Meet Chevy!
Chevy is a 7 year old neutered male boxer. Chevy has been passed around a bit here recently. After his owner passed, he was living with family of the owner. Unfortunately they did not have the time to give him the proper care he needed (He spent most of his time crate). He found a new home with 2 other dogs and at first he was doing great but he started getting into fights with the other male dog in the home. His new family tried to make it work by re-introducing, Muzzle training and behavioral correction but had no luck.
Chevy got along great with the female dog in the house, just not the male. If you have another dog in the home we would require a meet-and-greet before adoption.
We did a cat test with Chevy, he was bopped by the cat a few times and his only reaction was to walk away. We feel confident that he would be fine in a home with cats.
Chevy is struggling to adjust to life in the shelter. He spends a lot of time curled up in a ball in the corner of his kennel. Yesterday one of our volunteers came and took Chevy outside and spent some time with him and he seemed to calm down quite a bit. He loves people but he is not loving shelter life.
