PLEASE scroll down and read the ENTIRE BIO. It is lengthy but has ALL INFO we know. Emailing and asking for more info is only going to hold up your process and risk your chances of the dog you want being gone. BOOMER is in SALEM, Ohio. HE is fully vetted including neuter/rabies/Bordetella/parvo distemper vaccine/worming/heartworm lyme test/heartworm-flea prevent while at the shelter. We do not ship dogs, we do not transport dogs, we do not hold dogs. You must be ready to adopt within 72 hours upon approval.
FULLY VETTED ADOPTION FEE is: $150
** PLEASE NOTE: Since we are a shelter, the majority of our dogs have not had the luxury of a foster home. As a result, what we post in reference to their behavior, temperament, likes/dislikes etc is only what we witness here and not in a home atmosphere.
HOWDY!! Get ready for some karaaazy fun!!! My name is Boomer, I am ~6-7 yrs old and weigh 23 lbs. I know, I know, I could use some Doggie Jenny Craig!!! That's where you come in. I am hoping for an owner(s) that is able to supply me with the exercise that I need to bring me down to a more respectable weight. You see, my previous owner (although she loved me) was physically and mentally unable to provide me with the playtime and exercise that a chihuahua/jack Russel mix requires! If truth be told, I am tired of carrying around this spare tire....some would even go as far as to say "tireS". The vet is saying that I would be most comfy at around 18 lbs and that with the proper exercise and nutrition it is totally doable!!! Because of my previous owner's "issues", she didn't take me out in public too much, so I am just now getting the hang of social behavior. But as you can see in the pics, I am coming out of my shell QUICKLY!! I now enjoy a good leash walk to "do my business", love playing with toys, and have fun with the other dogs here at the shelter. I know my bio says that I like children and I DO, however because I have not been well socialized the girls here at the shelter believe that a home with respectful kids over the age of 12 would be best or none at all. I'm really good at snuggling next to you humans as I was supplied with lots of that in my "previous life". I love people but will need someone that allows me the 5 minutes it will take me to sniff/check you out....guess you could say that when being introduced, it has to be on my terms as to how quickly we move forward lol! Although if you know anything about chi/jrt breed mixes, that could very well explain things hahahaha!! In the event you know NOTHING about my breed mix...well, you best get to googling because we aren't for the faint of heart!!
