Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rose is a terrific dog! She is a 5-6 year-old Australian Shepherd around 65lbs. with medium energy. She is affectionate and her full tail will wag as soon as you look her way! Rose has good manners.
She is fully house trained, does not chew things she shouldn’t, sleeps quietly through the night, does not bark excessively, and knows some commands like sit and stay. She likes her crate fine but does not need to be crated as she will not cause mischief when her people are away from the house. Her naughtiest habit is a little counter surfing so it is best not to leave food in reach! She likes kids or anyone who pays her attention, but small children (under the age of 10) are not recommended because of her size. She likes to follow right on your heels and could accidentally push over a child or person with balance issues.
She LOVES to take a walk and will start to dance in circles if you go near her leash and loves to have a daily walk. She may pull on her leash if she sees a squirrel or something else enticing so she needs a handler with a good fitness level. Rose is not a good fit for a house with cats as it is just too tempting to chase them. Rose would be a good companion to a calm dog, but she is not a good playmate for an energetic dog. She does not like it if a dog jumps on her or charges at her and will not react well. She requires a fenced yard as she will take off if not restrained. She does not enjoy fetch or playing with toys. She loves treats. She may get carsick on a long ride but enjoys short rides around town, especially if it is to go for a hike!
Rose was treated for heartworms after her owners fell on hard times, but she is currently healthy and fully vetted. Rosie is a beautiful dog and will make a sweet companion to whomever is lucky enough to adopt her.
