Looking for the love of your life, well look no further! Hi my name is Nellie and like every other hound here in rescue I have a story, Mom says this is what makes us that much more adorable that we have survived most dogs don't dream of and still come out of it with the most loving endearing personalities. I used to be named Rolla, my first set of humans named me this as this is where they purchased me from a breeder, Mom says I needed a new name for a new life so I happily welcomed the name Nellie. I was quickly outgrown by this family and they dismissed me to their backyard...and guess what I got quite bored out there by myself and found my way out a few times. Finally after my 3rd adventure they contacted a local rescue lady and she contacted Hounds Haven trying to avoid me having to go to the local shelter and here I am living the high life and looking for my forever home. I have met so many wonderful people on my adventure so far and some of the coolest play buddies in all their hounds. I have finally landed in IA and despite the cold think it's A-Okay here. Each person who falls in love with my sweetness can not get over how incredibly calm and well natured I am for a 8 month old puppy....I tend to think I am juts advanced for my age. I am an absolute DOLL if I do say so myself. In my current temporary home I have the greatest hound sister Ella, and we love to play play play.....I would really love to go to a home with another dog as a companion but can also survive being the only girl and being SPOILED (after all I deserve it!)! I absolutely ADORE the little kids too, just more loving for me in my size. I am house trained, but please remember to allow me time to adjust in my new surroundings. I am what rescue considers a medium size girl and incredibly long! I am UTD on all vaccinations, HW tested negative, de-wormed and altered. Adoption Information:
Please remember Every animal for adoption through an Hounds Haven is fully vetted for their age and only needs routine preventive care. Dogs older then 6 months of age are heartworm tested! All dogs are kept on heartworm preventative. Every hound is vaccinated (age appropriate), and de-wormed, in addition to being spayed/neutered.
We are asking for interested parties to fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire prior to us lining up an appointment for them to see the hound(s) at the hound(s)' home.
