My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NOTE: This is a courtesy posting for another rescuer. Please do not contact ARRF, as we do not know this pet personally. Meet this pet at the Department of Animal Services, 2481 Palomar Airport Road, Carlsbad, 92011.

Flannel is a 3-year old, neutered black with tan German Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix who weighs about 62 lbs. This handsome young boy walks perfectly by your side, takes treats gently and knows sit. He is always quiet in his kennel - he’s a calming influence in a shelter full of noisy canines! He also likes to keep his kennel clean, prefers to do his business outside whenever possible.

He can be a bit shy when it’s time to get leashed up for a walk, but with a little patience and a couple of treats he’s quickly ready to go on an adventure. This boy is so easy-going and well mannered that he’s on the list of easy dogs for new volunteers to take out. After a nice walk he enjoys being brushed and petted.

Once he feels comfortable and gets to know you, he can act like a happy little kid in the big play yard - jumping, leaping, chasing toys. He’s usually calm and reserved, but it’s fun to see that side of his personality come out!

Flannel is available for adoption at the San Diego County Animal Shelter - North Shelter, 2481 Palomar Airport Road, Carlsbad CA 92011. Call 619.767.2675 for an appointment to meet him and please have his identification number (which is: A1892361) available when you call. You can also meet Flannel and other available animals without an appointment during shelter opening hours which are currently 10 am to 3 pm Saturdays and Sundays.
