My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Little Miss Betty Boop is ready to find her new home!  Betty is an 8-year-old chihuahua and she weighs about 7pounds.  Betty was surrendered to our city shelter but she was not doing well there and needed out.  We knew that Betty needed to be in a foster home where we could spoil and love her!

Betty wants nothing more than to love and be loved!  Her personality is growing every day in her foster home.  Betty does need a little time to warm up to new people. Sometimes a little cheese is all it takes to win someone over (that's all it takes for me!)!  Like most people, snacks and meals are her favorite times of the day and she will stand up on her hind legs to beg to be fed! Betty is a snuggler and wants to be under a blanket when her foster mom is working at home.  She is happy just to be near her.  She is good with other dogs and lives with several in her foster home.  She does bark at the bigger dog in her foster home for no apparent reason - just little dog syndrome.   She lives with cats and does not have any issues with them.  Older kids (12+)  are fine too as long as they are respectful of her small stature.  She is fine in a crate and will actually hang out in one during the day under a blanket.   Betty has a fully fenced yard in her foster home but also uses potty pads when necessary.  She can walk on a leash but prefers the freedom of a yard.  Betty loves bedtime the most!  She is so excited to get to sleep with her foster mom and will quickly find her place in her bed.  She loves to sleep by her foster mom's head or snuggled under the comforter, snoring away.

Betty was a loyal friend to someone and then dumped off when she was no longer wanted.  We are not going to let that happen to her again - she is far too precious to be let down by people again!  If you feel you can fill the hole in Betty's heart that her former owner left, please apply on our website.

Betty is now spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  She has also had a dental while in our care.  Her adoption fee is $350
