My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

MAYA is a gorgeous, happy girl who radiates affection and enthusiasm.  She adores walks—either heeling or on a loose leash, because she’s been trained not to pull even though, like all malamutes, she’d love to—and will “woooo” her head off to greet you. She can also show off skills like “sit,” “stay,” “come,” and “down.”

MAYA is thrilled to go on car rides, especially if, from the back seat, she can rest her chin on your shoulder. She loves chasing balls or playing tug-o-war.  This girl also needs a big yard and/or at least two walks daily. She does great with kids of all ages, after a leashed introduction to make sure she doesn’t jump up for a full-body hug. After dinner, Maya magically transforms into a big plush cuddlebug, happy to spend hours resting by your feet, unless you’d rather rub her soft, furry belly.

MAYA is excited to meet other dogs but sometimes other dogs are not as excited to meet her.  She may be Ok in multiple dog family, but it will depend on the other dog.  Of course, she would love to be your one and only.
