My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nia came to us after a rough start in life. She was found, terrified, living on the side of railroad tracks with a huge pinch collar on. We have no idea how long she had been out there for but lucky for her a resident saw her thin frame and the nest she had built as her nee home. We were contacted and able to coax her to safety. She’s about 4 years old and is looking for her forever family!

Nia is looking for a family with some dog experience. Nia has lived with middle aged children (10) and does well with a variety of dogs both young and old in her foster home. She is smart and eager to learn. Nia has excellent recall and knows basic commands. She loves toys and squeaky toys are her favorite. Nia is quiet around the house but will bark at people who approach or walk by. She loves to sit near a window. Nia loves her crate and sleeps in it at night. Nia will need a fence that is 6ft tall or a property with a lot of land that she can be perimeter trained on. She isn’t the best on leash so a family that’s going to frequently take her on neighborhood walks wouldn’t be a fitting placement for her. Nia is spayed, vaccinated and chipped.
