Abner believes in love at first sight and hasn't met a human he couldn't lick. He is close to being 100% potty trained but still has some work to do, loves to play with stuffed animals, and he would love a small furry friend to call his own (although he doesn't need one to be happy).
After a few weeks at home his foster mom says:
He is a very sweet boy and has a lot of puppy-like energy. While he is indeed a very good boy and oh so loveable he does have some things he will need work on so here we go...He doesn't like medical restraint or eye drops (I mean who does, am i right?) and will growl (and snap if pressed, I'm looking at you nail trim techs...) He definitely likes to be right with his people and isn't fond of being in a carrier or kennel. He is very much a velcro dog and is always underfoot so if you are one of those eyes in the back of your head types, this might be a good fit. He is probably not best for folks with mobility issues given that he could easily trip or get caught under foot. He LOVES to bark and will show you just how much anytime any dastardly villain (read car driving down street or random noise) tries to disturb the sanctity of your home. Last but not least he is a door dasher but training is going well on this front. We will be working on training for these issues while he is with his foster mom where possible but his future adopter will likely see these issues in the home as well.
Abner is approximately 3 years old and weighs in at a lap friendly 5 lbs. He does have several medical needs that we are attending to which is why he is listed as Coming Soon. All of these conditions are treatable and or fixable and that is exactly what we are going to do! This little guy will be with us until he is all fixed up and ready for his forever family. We expect that to be sometime in September so get your applications in now, this little love nugget is gonna go quick.
