My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Spunkie's human recently died on Hospice. We believe he is around 5 years old, indoor, neutered and declawed front paws. We do not believe he has seen a veterinarian in a few years. He is usually sweet and playful, however since his human died he has been timid and spending time under a bed. When trying to retrieve him he did bite which is out of the norm. We believe he could be mourning the loss of his human and would need an adopter with patience until he gets comfortable in his new home. Spunkie is in Ferguson Missouri 63135
Spunkie is part of Mercy Hospices Pet Peace of Mind program. The Hospice philosophy supports the entire family, and we do believe that pets are family. The goal is to keep our hospice patients and their pets together for as long as possible. If there is a financial need, we will cover pet food, veterinary services, medications, grooming, etc.… We will also help with rehoming the pet after our patient passes if there is not a loving home available with friends or family.
