My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

12/30/10 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!

Adoption Fee: $325

Fostered in Louisiana

Age: 7 years

Weight: 7.4 lbs.

ADOPTION APPLICATION REQUIRED.
Visit www.YorkieHavenRescue.com to apply.

11/1/10 - Yesterday was my birthday and Spanky, another foster pup here in Louisiana, was kind enough to have my birthday party at his foster home. We had a great time running around the yard playing and then would go in when we got tired of being outside. I got presents, doggy treats and foster mom even tried to put a party hat on me. I accepted the presents and treats, but had to pass on the hat. So, I turned 7! I have to say that from viewing the pictures that were taken of me, I think I have turned into quite the sophisticated lady. Well, Happy Halloween to you and Happy Birthday to me!

8/17/10 - Snickers had a play date with a few of the other Yorkie Haven Rescue fosters in another home yesterday and we snapped some new pictures of her and wanted to share them. She had a really good time, but was exhausted and ready to leave after about an hour and a half. There is another alpha female in that home and she and Snickers (since Snickers is alpha female) did not like each other much. She was fine with the males, but since she is in a foster home with no other pups, even they seemed to get on her nerves after awhile. She did play with them, just tired of them. Snickers has been doing very well in her foster home and is, for the most part, potty trained to pee pads and outside.

4/22/10 - Snickers here. It’s been a while since I’ve written and I apologize, but foster mom and I have been busy. Since I arrived at YHR, I have my teeth cleaned and the vet let me know that I had 5 bad teeth that needed to be extracted. That was done recently so I’m feeling and eating much better now. All 5 of the teeth were on one side of my mouth, so I tend to chew better and quicker on the other side, but boy, does my mouth feel better without those rotten teeth in there. I sure do like it here at my foster home. I’ve racked up on the toys and clothes, but I realize that this is just temporary and long for my forever family to apply for me. Don’t forget, I do not get along with other female pups and will need to go to a home without any or with male pups.

2/3/10 - Hello dear applicants, my name is Snickers. I’m up for adoption because my previous mom was unable to take care of my any longer due to the economy so she decided to make sure I was taken care of and surrendered me to Yorkie Haven Rescue. Not sure if I like that title “up for adoption” since it means I don’t have a permanent home and sounds so pitiful. Since I reek of royalty, I’m sure it won’t take long before people are just knocking down the door at my foster home to adopt me.

My foster mom has been kind enough to take a few notes on my demands. I will need fresh filtered water daily, a jeweled collar with my name on it, a fluffy pet bed to nap in during the day, high quality dog food and a visit to the groomer at least once every two months. What can I say? It’s a material world and I’m a material girl. I may not currently have a last name, but I will not settle for second best.

Small children make me a little nervous, so a castle without them would be best. I like other pups my size, as long as they are ok with my being the alpha. After all, a home can only have one queen, and I’m determined to be it.
