Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Reuben was caught as a stray and brought to the shelter to be neutered and vetted. Unfortunately, we learned on Monday that he is FIV+. However, he still deserves a chance at a forever home!
The vet puts him at around 3-5 years old, and while he can be nervous at times (no doubt the result of him having to spend time fending for himself outdoors), it turns out he's a real sweetheart that loves treats and catnip. Because he is FIV+, he needs to be either the only cat or only housed with other FIV+ cats. He also should not be able to free-roam outdoors. We don't know how he is with other cats (as he is having to be separated from the other shelter cats), but given that he is a recently neutered tomcat, it would probably be best to not have him around other male cats.
There are a lot of great resources out there to help people get educated about FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus). With the right care, Reuben can live a full and happy life like any other cat!
