Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Brody has a PENDING ADOPTION!
Brody is a 1+ yo mini schnauzer looking for his forever family in PA, DE, MD, VA, or DC.
He is friendly, barky, playful and active. Due to his barking, he would do best in an active single family home with a fenced yard so he can run and be active but be walked at times when there aren't as many people and dogs out and about. He must be walked on a secured harness as he does lunge at cars on his walks. He rides well in the car.
Brody gets along with other dogs. He likes to be with his people all the time when they are home. He does not appear to have separation anxiety when his foster leaves the home and he is crated.
Brody needs an adoptive family who has time and patience to house train him. He spent the first year of his life with a family who didn't do much to train him and then dumped him in a shelter. We were notified about this situation and tracked him down. He looked like he hadn't been groomed for that whole year. His little back end was very tender from all the matts and tangles. He does not like to be touched there. He is ok with being picked up. He hates being brushed, so his family will need to work gradually on this. Due to his background, children living in the home should be teenagers.
Brody is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm/Lyme testing, and preventatives.
If you would like to be considered to adopt Brody, you must first apply. Please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com for our rescue's adoption application. Please be sure to keep a watch on your Spam and Junk folders if you don't see a response in your email inbox. If you've already applied, please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com to be added to the list of those being considered.
Rescue Schnauzers usually weigh between 15-25 pounds, they are up to date on shots, heartworm/Lyme tested and spayed/neutered prior to placement. We make reasonable efforts to evaluate the health and temperament of each dog, however we cannot make any guarantees.
We are not a shelter and do not have a central facility to visit our rescue schnauzers. All dogs are kept in foster homes located throughout the area we cover. PLEASE NOTE: We rescue schnauzers in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania. We can only accept applications from these areas. For a rescue contact in other areas, please go to our website http://www.schnauzerrescue.net and click on Rescue Links. We have a need for volunteers in Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
Our website features lots of great information about the rescue process, book reviews and training tips. You can donate to Brody's care at http://schnauzerrescue.net/Donate.htm via PayPal or check. All donations go to the veterinary fund and are tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Thanks for your support!
