PLEASE scroll down and read the ENTIRE BIO. It is lengthy but has ALL INFO we know. Emailing and asking for more info is only going to hold up your process and risk your chances of the dog you want being gone. DIXIE is in SALEM, Ohio. SHE is fully vetted including: spay/rabies/Bordetella/parvo distemper vaccine/worming/heartworm lyme test/heartworm-flea prevent while at the shelter. We do not ship dogs, we do not transport dogs, we do not hold dogs. You must be ready to adopt within 72 hours upon approval.
FULLY VETTED ADOPTION FEE is: $150
** PLEASE NOTE: Since we are a shelter, the majority of our dogs have not had the luxury of a foster home. As a result, what we post in reference to their behavior, temperament, likes/dislikes etc is only what we witness here and not in a home atmosphere.
OK y'all, if you are ready for some laughs and excitement....read on!!! My name is Miss Dixie, and I am a 4 yrs old "short stack". I've got some Heeler and some English Bulldog i me...don't judge, us dogs can't pick our parents!! I was found as a stray and believe it or not, no one came to claim me!!! So, here I sit waiting on just the right owner(s) to come along. A bit about me, I am playful, love toys, love people, am having a blast playing with the other dogs here at the shelter. But if they step out of bounds, I have no problem letting them know....some of the boy dogs seem to find me particularly stunning and show it in strange ways....if you know what I mean. In that case, I have no problem letting them know that certain things are totally unacceptable. I love cuddling with the volunteers and staff here at the shelter along with taking long walks with them. I am all about full disclosure so I will tell you that my vocal abilities are OUTSTANDING so condo or apartment living would not be a good idea. However, up til now no one has tried to teach me what is acceptable barking and what isn't. So, help a sista out and give me some guidelines!! If I know the rules, I'm certain I can play the games! I ride good in a car and am always up for an adventure. I keep my kennel clean, but a new home and new rules/routines mean you and I will require lots of patience and consistency. And I need to tell you that everyone thinks I am a large girl simply because I am a bit "thick" (that would be the dang English bulldog in me). But as you can see in the pic of one of the girls holding me, I am kinda like a "sausage with legs" lol, yup and I have a good sense of humor too!! So, to recap; I like adventure, toys, other dogs, people, snuggling, walks and I am quite vocal, If all those things sound like they might interest you plz take some time to fill out that application so I can prove to you exactly how cool I am!!! love, dixie chick xoxoxo
