Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Kona is known for having, quite-possibly, the most adorable ears on the planet! This charismatic young lady has stellar family-dog credentials to go along with her unforgettable ears. Kona is housetrained, crate-trained, does well on a workday schedule (with a nice break at lunchtime) and she sits on-cue for treats. A true social butterfly, Kona is quick to make both dog and human friends. She’s a ball of silly energy and would love to find a home with another playful dog, her size, to run zoomies in the yard and play chase with on sunny afternoons. Her favorites pastimes are gnawing on nylabones, taking naps after walks and carefully monitoring the yard for squirrels. She is the self-appointed captain of the neighborhood squirrel patrol.
With her wide, cheerful smile and whole-body wiggle, Kona can be excitable at first but settles easily into a nice walking or hiking pace. She rides perfectly in the car and would make a terrific adventure buddy for someone who enjoys the outdoors. At around 1.5 years old, Kona has a magnetic playful spirit and the heart of a sweet puppy. In her previous life, she was bounced around a bit and was left crated for extended periods of time. Now, she’s thriving in a foster home with plenty of stability, routine and reassurance. Her needs are pretty simple: lots of exercise, love and patience – a little extra time to trust she’s staying forever in her new home.
Kona in three words: Goofy. Loveable. Playful
She’s quintessentially the “whole-package” and whoever scoops up this meatball, will be pretty darn lucky.
Age: 1.5yrs old
Social: YES, yes and yes! Kona adores people and is happiest playing with other medium/large dogs (due to her focused interest in squirrels, we are recommending a home without other small dogs, cats or ferrets/hamsters at this time).
Energy level: Moderate – Moderate + (a nice mix of energy and the ability to relax)
Kids: Kona appears to love children and she responds politely to meeting them; that said, she can also be quite strong, so an ideal match may be with older dog-savvy kids
Vet notes: Already spayed, current on vaccines, no known health issues, heartworm negative
