Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Searching for an extra special adopter for Phoebe! She was part of an abandoned litter, and is now healthy, vetted, and looking for love! Will she be your pink-toed, pink-nosed Valentine puppy?
Sometimes the whitest merle-colored puppy in a litter is deaf and/or blind. Phoebe is neither! Her BAER hearing test shows normal hearing in both ears. The veterinary eye specialist said that although her eyes are slightly smaller than normal (microphthalmos), and she has a displaced pupil in her left eye, both of her beautiful blue eyes have vision! (Just not 20/20 vision).
The displaced pupil causes her to have double vision and makes her focal point off, but her brain, nose and hearing will compensate for that as she grows a little older. Phoebe won’t be a flyball or frisbee dog, but she will make someone a great pet!
Phoebe is shy at introductions, but once she knows you, she is playful and curious, and loves attention! She is food motivated too! She is the puppy from the litter who most follows around and loves the surrogate mama dog. She loves her foster mom and dad too!
Phoebe often claims both the crate and the dog bed! This girl just loves to snuggle and be comfortable! She will make a great companion, a buddy for your dog, or just a buddy for yourself.
She will need an understanding owner, that the shyness and clumsiness she displays is related to being a puppy with double vision. She is a normal, energetic, curious puppy, and should gain confidence as she experiences new people and places.
She will be 3 months on Feb. 15, and weighs just over 19 lbs, she is a big, healthy girl! Not recommended for homes with children under age 10, as we expect Phoebe to be 50+ pounds.
