Meet Pepper! She is a female German Shepherd mix born 7/13/21. According to her foster mom, she is very observant and loves interacting with humans or other dogs. Pepper is very intelligent and treat motivated.She is crate trained and almost completely housebroken and is very good and signaling she needs to go out. She is a high energy and will require an active home/lifestyle with someone who has knowledge of the breed. She enjoys car rides and is up for lots of new adventures.
Pepper will need a home with another dog of similar size and energy level, no feline friends or small animals-true to her breed, she has a decent prey drive.
She is quite a jumper and will require a secure 6 foot fence. Pepper is also still very mouthy as shepherd pups can be, therefore we are seeking a home with only adults or a home with no children under age 8.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application to be filled out which includes personal references. An in-Home check by a Mikey's Chance volunteer is also performed prior to adoption. Our dogs come to the adopter "ready-to-go" with current Vet health checks, all shots and vaccinations current and the animal spayed or neutered, as well as micro-chipped.

Our adoption process can take 2-4 weeks to process as we are run completely by volunteers, all of whom work full time jobs.

We depend on a network of volunteers and fosters for the care of our dogs. The dogs are fostered primarily in Tri-Cities, WA. We often have Meet 7 Greet events at Petsmart and Paws Natural Pet Emporium LLC both in Kennewick.

"Mikey's Chance" is a dog rescue organization organized under Washington State articles of Incorporation as a Non-profit Charity. We focus mainly on saving dogs that are at risk or on “Death Row” in shelters in our area, and placing them to great families. We work with individual adopters, private rescuers, and rescue organizations that share our values. All our dogs are up to date on shots, sterilized, and microchipped prior to adoption, and they are all carefully evaluated to ensure the best possible match with adopters.
