My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hossy spent OVER A YEAR IN A SHELTER! It's a good thing he made it to us when he did because he couldn't have held on much longer!

Hossy is a middle aged (5-6 year old) mixed breed dogs who looks like he could have shepherd and/or pitbull in him and weighs about 60 pounds. Hossy has been nothing but perfect in his foster home. He is reliably house trained and has good indoor manners. He sleeps on his dog bed but gets up about three times a night just to peak at his foster mom and make sure she is ok! Hossy has endured what few dogs could without loosing their minds. This boy deserves a wonderful, forever home without haveing to wait a moment longer!

Hossy has enough energy to enjoy playing ball in the back yard or stolling through the neighborhood but is calm and well mannered enough to be a good fit for an older adopter. The does enjoy romping in the yard with the other dogs in his foster home. He does need a home with a fenced yard and without cats.

We think Hossy is just about perfect and we sure are glad we could save him!

Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
