Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Iris and I am the cutest little bunny in the history of the world! At least that’s what my foster family tells me. They never tire of watching me hop, sit up, flop out and run around being cute.
I am under a year old and I was recently spayed. I am really small, just under three pounds, but I’ve got fluffy tri-color fur that makes me look a little bigger.
Being such a small prey animal, I get scared when people, even children, try to catch me and hold me. You will probably need to build trust with me by lying down and letting me sniff and hop around and on you before you try petting me. After I’ve gained confidence in you this way I will flop out on the floor, and then I like being petted.
Even though I’m small, I eat just like a bigger rabbit. I like unlimited timothy hay and/or orchard grass garnished with a little oat hay or alfalfa. I get 3 or 4 tablespoons of pellets every day, and a couple of cups of fresh greens. Cilantro is especially good. A bit of carrot is a nice treat. I am not that interested in blueberries or raspberries — I will eat one eventually if you give me one, but I don’t go crazy for them as some bunnies do.
My litterbox habits are pretty good. I’ve matured to where I almost always pee in the litterbox and usually poop in it - but my foster dad had to put the litterbox where "I" wanted it, not just where "he" thought it should go. I am still kind of excited by seeing and smelling other bunnies, so I will poop and sometimes pee along the boundary lines. But I seem to be doing this less since I was recently spayed.
I like to have a bunny-proofed area with toys, boxes, and things to climb during my busy times in the morning, evening, and sometimes late at night. I am accustomed to free-roaming an approximately 8 by 6-foot area all the time and enjoy the chance to go on supervised field trips to other parts of the house occasionally.
Even though my foster family adores me, there are a lot of other bunnies around here and they’d love to see me in a forever home where I can get more attention and affection! I hope you’ll consider adding me to your family!
