Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Our adoption process can be found on our website here: www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/process
Estimated birth date: 11/1/20

Favorite treats: Oxbow hay treats (various flavors), bell pepper, cilantro
Current Diet: Oxbow Essentials Adult Guinea Pig Food, Veggies, Leafy Greens, Western Timothy Hay, fruit occasionally.
Favorite toys and activities: toilet paper tubes, hay filled twig balls, going through tunnels, hanging out in her cube hammock
Potty trained: Haven't tried
This animal’s daily routine: Morning vitamin C tablet and pellets around 7:30am, refresh hay and water as needed. Poop clean out mid morning. Lap/floor time late afternoon or after dinner. Dinner salad around 5:00/5:30pm. Poop clean out, and refresh hay and water if needed before bedtime. Top and back of cage covered with light blanket before bedtime around 10:00/10:30pm.
BFF (Does this animal have or need a friend of the same species in their home?): Elsa & Theresa are a recently bonded pair and must be adopted together.
Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Cat - indifferent; guinea pig in other room - no direct contact, will sometimes wheek back and forth with her at dinnertime; rabbit in other room - no direct contact but can hear and smell him, no reaction
Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? Elsa does not have contact with children in her foster home. She did have contact with children in her intake home, and liked to sit on their laps and be petted by them.
Health concerns: Elsa has had bumblefoot in the past, so her cage will need to be kept clean, and her feet checked regularly to make sure they are staying healthy.
Behavioral concerns: None
Other notes: Elsa is a Peruvian guinea pig, so has long continuously growing fur that will need regular maintenance to stay clean and not hinder her movement. In her current foster home, she gets brushed three times a week, has a butt bath once a month, an all over bath every other month, and a fur trim once a month.
Elsa was returned to MNPPR after her family could no longer provide care or provide a buddy for her after her cage mate passed away.
Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. This animal's foster parent prefers to meet at the Petsmart - 8460 Tamarack Village, Woodbury, MN 55125 for meet & greets, & adoptions.
Fee: Theresa & Elsa will have a combined adoption fee of $60
We absolutely DO NOT SHIP ANIMALS! Please do not ask.
Elsa's care while in rescue has not yet been sponsored. If you would like to donate to provide veterinary care, food, bedding, and enrichment for Elsa or other pocket pets in the care of MNPPR, please visit https://www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/sponsor-a-pocket-pet for more information.
