Meet Jelly! Jelly is our longest resident here at HSEC. She has been here since 02/04/2022 and is 3 years old! Jelly has been in long-term foster due to her being very stressed out here at the shelter. Jelly’s foster mom hopes we can find the perfect home for Jelly because she knows firsthand just how amazing Jelly is! Jelly is an absolute lovebug! She loves nothing more than getting pets and snuggling up to you on the couch. She loves chewing on her bones and playing with her toys when she’s not being lazy and cuddling with you. She can get very excited on the leash and when she meets new people, but when she sticks to her routine, she is calm. She gets nervous sometimes when she sees other dogs, but she is learning to be less afraid. Jelly is perfect for someone who can spend time petting and playing with her and give her plenty of walks! Jelly is still looking for her forever home! I know, we are just as shocked as we are! Jelly would do best in the home as the only dog, but that just means you can spoil her like the dog she deserves. We believe that in controlled environments, she would be able to coexist with other dogs/cats. Like any of our dogs, Jelly would require a meet and greet before becoming a part of your furry family! This amazing dog brings such infectious joy to any room, it’s hard to resist coming up and petting her smooth little head! We are absolutely stoked to see Jelly find her forever home! More about this rescue
The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina's mission is to serve as a safe haven for homeless and neglected pets and act as a resource to the community. By educating the public about issues pertaining to animals, we feel that we can work towards the elimination of over breeding of dogs and cats and teach owners to be responsible pet owners. At the same time, we hope to facilitate adoption of pets to good homes so that we can allow more unwanted animals to find a temporary home with us.
