My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This super sweet girl is just a few years old and weighs around 35-40 pounds. Noelle is silly and affectionate. She is great with others and has most definitely never met a strange. She absolutely loves kids!! Noelle came to us with heartworms and demodectic mange but the lack of care she lived with prior to rescue has not stopped her from loving humans and other dogs one bit. She gives the best kisses and you will fall in love with her soon as you meet her. Noelle is good on lead and very well behaved for car rides. She enjoys snoozing in the sun, yummy treats, belly rubs, and hanging with her peeps. Noelle is going to make such a wonderful family companion! She is on inexpensive daily medications to counteract some of the damage done to her heart from the heart worm infection that has been treated. While the medications are not expensive and we are hopeful that over time as the damage heals she will not need to stay on them.

Noelle had a terrible case of demodectic mange when she came into our rescue but she has been treated and she looks like a million bucks now. Demodectic mange, frequently referred to as Demodex or "red mange", is the most common form of mange in dogs. Demodectic mange most often occurs in puppies with immature immune systems, allowing the number of skin mites to multiply rapidly. It's not contagious to other dogs or humans, and it is easily treatable but can be a lengthy process.

There are several different medications (oral and topical) that are used to treat Demodex. Medicated baths are helpful and soothing to help the puppy feel less irritated. However, the very best treatment above everything else is low stress and lots of TLC. We also suggest food that is for skin conditions if there are flare ups.

This sweet puppy is ready for a home of her very own but please be sure and do your own research about Demodex to make sure you're comfortable with it. We've treated probably thousands of puppies and adults with Demodex and in the most severe cases, the hair might grow back splotchy in places, but the recovery is full and when treated properly, Demodex leaves no long-term health issues.
This dog is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested positive for heartworms and has been treated in our care. Noelle is part of our current Pittie Palooza Adoption Event so this means her adoption donation has been reduced to $260 from 5/30 until 7/4 to help get her out of foster care and into a home of her own! An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.

WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you!

If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.

After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
