Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cody is a cute very sweet young Yorkie mix fella weighing 13.8 pounds. He is 5 years old and being fostered in Clearwater, FL. All dogs fostered in the state of Florida must be adopted within the State of Florida.
Cody is happy to report that he received a clean bill of health from the vet recently despite his fear of the vet. He needs additional support during his vet visits. His foster family reports that Cody is housetrained and a sweet loving little boy. Cody goes to the door and alerts his foster family when he needs to potty outside. Such a good boy! Cody prefers women and will need someone very patient to continue the work that his foster family has started with Cody's anxiety and uncertainties.
Due to his lonely past on the streets, Cody does wake up with nightmares and needs someone who can work with him to make sure Cody always feels safe and secure. Cody also would work best in a household that doesn't currently have any other dogs. Cody likes to get all his human's attention. Cody is afraid of new people and is very slow to allow them to pet him. Cody needs a mom who is willing to be very patient and doesn't rush Cody meeting new people. He likes to take his time. Cody is deathly afraid of being crated as well. Cody's foster family has been working on socializing Cody, but this is an area where Cody will need more work as well.
Here's what my updated ideal home would be:
- A female-only home with a fenced backyard for me to exercise and play.
- No crate for me - my experience at the shelter has caused me to have an extreme fear of being crated.
- No children under the age of 14 years old.
- A quiet household with no additional pets in the home.
