Chance was trapped by HARTT - Humane Animal Rescue and Trapping Team after weeks of living alone in a field in Litchfield Park. He was lovingly named “Chance” by his finder - hoping that this sweet boy would get a second chance at life and love.
At 63 pounds, Chance is a just big, goofy boy. How he ended up a stray is beyond us because we think he is the greatest find this side of Heaven. This chill dude is a joy to have around the house as he is polite and well-mannered. When you meet Chance you'll see he has a very sensitive nature about him. Because of this, he appreciates a calm, slow intro (with both humans and dogs). Chance loves respectful kids and would best thrive in a home where his humans are older and gentle.
While Chance would be fine being an only-dog, he wouldn't mind an easy-going, low-key, laid-back buddy either. Chance has met big dogs and little dogs. For Chance, their size isn't as important as their energy - calm, steady, respectful, and with a bit of goofy play.
Chance came to us a quite and rather timid boy, but he has really come out of his shell and flourished the last couple of months. He would appreciate his new owner be a calm and gentle leader - someone who can build his confidence and instill trust. Chance walks on a leash like a dream. Right now, we are utilizing a simple slip lead, and that seems to be enough to communicate to Chance what we expect of him on the walk. He really enjoys his daily neighborhood strolls.
Even though Chance is crate and potty trained, his younger age means that he may exhibit typical testy behaviors that will need management. This boy enjoys a good chew, so bones, antlers, or durable toys are a must in his new home; they'll keep him mentally occupied and content!
If you are looking for a low-key Bully to spend time with, please consider Chance. This beautiful sweetheart is such a good dog and deserves a home that will invest in continuing to patiently shape him to be the most well-behaved dog around.
