Here's what the humans have to say about me:
IN SULLIVAN, ILLINOIS
Meet Waylon! This handsome guy is a 2 year old male Blue Merle Aussie mix that weighs 55 lbs. Waylon was chained on a property in the Kansas City area and outreach folks convinced the family this wasn’t an ideal life for him. Even though his past was less than desirable, this didn't change his SWEET ways! Waylon is SO sweet and loves everyone he meets! He likes to snuggle and he has an off switch, as long as he has had his exercise for the day. He would love someone to do tricks with, to run with, to be a sidekick with and go places in the car.
Unfortunately, Waylon did have to go through heartworm treatment and is now successfully cleared of those nasty heartworms. It will be VERY IMPORTANT that Waylon be kept on monthly HW preventative or the heartworm injection (ProHeart) for the rest of his life.
Waylon is crate trained and house trained when kept on a schedule. He has transitioned nicely from being an outdoor only dog to being a well mannered indoor family member. He does occasionally jump on people when he gets super excited, so a home with respectful kids over age 12 would be better for him.
Waylon is GREAT with other dogs and would prefer to have a home with other dogs as well as some room to roam. He loves to do zoomies!! Waylon would like to have a fenced in yard in his forever home. Waylon does have a tendency to chase the foster home’s barn cat….so “dog savvy” cats should be fine but it would be best if there are no house cats!!
Waylon is SO smart and has learned some tricks – he knows how to count to 3, sit and speak. He is so eager to please his person. He is ready to find his forever home so he can learn new tricks and love on his new family!!! He is a great watch dog as well and will bark alert as needed.
Waylon is neutered; current on vaccinations, microchipped and receives monthly preventatives for fleas/ticks as well as heartworms.
