My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Betty is an 8 year old, lab/ boxer mix dreamboat of a dog, She is affectionate, well behaved, great with other dogs and cats, potty trained, crate trained, walks well on the leash, and rides nicely in the car. If you are looking for an easy dog, Betty is exactly that. Betty is a Pro Napper and she has made being a couch potato an absolute art form. Betty originally came to us from animal control where she was picked up as a stray and she has definitely had a rough life in the past. She has clearly suffered from chronic ear infections and flea allergies that have resulted in some scarring and hair loss on her tail and scar tissue in her ears. Her back has some degeneration that has caused a little weakness resulting a her leaking a bit of urine when she sleeps but it is controlled with a daily medication. Betty wears washable diapers to prevent any possible leakage on the furniture or floors in the house and she doesn't mind keeping them on. She also came to us in the spring with heartworms and she has completed treatment but does have a heart murmur and some damage as a result so she is also on medication for that. We do have a grant available to help cover the some of the costs of her medications but an adopter should be comfortable with spending around $70 a month on medications and able to provide regular vet care. If you are looking for a sweet, easy, low key gal and you don’t mind committing to regular medications, we would love to chat with you about adding Betty to your household.

Betty is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested positive for heartworms and has been treated in our care. Betty is part of our current Pittie Palooza Adoption Event so this means her adoption donation has been reduced to $260 from 5/30 until 7/4 to help get her out of foster care and into a home of her own! An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.

WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you!

If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.

After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
